My cousin used to have one that road around in the truck with him when he was bear hunting.
the hounds bayed a bear on the ground and that little JR charged into the fray and ended up running up and down that bears back...chewin on him for all he was worth.
One bite and he would have been lunch but those things are quicker then a cat!

Dads female made me double take the other day. Dad has this flying squirrel throwing thing and he puts it up on the tree trunk about as high as he can stretch... we're talking 8 - 9 feet up now... and that little rat literally ran, jumped, and then ran up 6 foot of vertical trunk and got it! I was amazed!
A little incentive, I'll help transport any of the rats and meet halfway anyone that buys one. I'm also afraid that dad will end up with a flock of these things, soemthing that I'm afraid will set mom off her rocker.
Dads female made me double take the other day. Update - these little guys/gals are vaccinated I believe, they're also in the process of being weaned. I don't know the exact age, but they're pretty young. Maybe 2 months, sorry I don't have exacts, I'm 5th party to the "great jack russel event of 2007" at my parents house.

I have a rat dog named RD and she is one heck of a dog. I have her trained to ring a desk bell when she wants to go outside. She is also a bird killing machine. I don't know how she does it but she seems to kill about 1 a week???

Jack Russells are great dogs. I had one for 5 years, and we were forced to give him up, he was a liability to my 2 yr. old daughter, he never quit growling at her and we couln't risk a dog biting our child. We miss him dearly, he was a great companion out in the field, they have motors on them that never quit.
If I didn't have a young child in our house, I wouldn't hesitate in getting another one! Again, great dogs, just be prepared for plenty of activity!
