Received word this evening that Larry Huffman passed away today at 3:00 pm.

The world of the Whitetail Deer lost a good friend.

Larry was an integral part of the Iowa Deer Classic, and without his presence, the show will never be the same.

My condolences to his family.

Larry did much to promote the appreciation for whitetail deer, and his legacy will always be the Legendary Whitetails collection that he assembled.

Wow that is shocking.

You hit the nail on the head Dan he made the Iowa Deer Classic the best whitetail show on earth.

Very sad....2 individuals in about a year...Larry Huffman and Larry Raveling that were dedicated to the Iowa Deer Classic
 
I too just got a call about Larry's passing. Sad news. My thoughts are with his son Greg and their family. Larry was a great guy who made everyone one of us who work at the Classic feel like a family. His show is monument to his love and respect of the whitetail deer!
 
Sad news indeed... I hunted with Larry about 10 years ago. We were both at the same camp in Illinois. Hell of a Guy. He will be missed.
 
The whitetail world has lost one of but a very few of it's true cornerstones with the passing of Larry. All of us that helped Larry with his Iowa Deer Classic have lost a man of "Legendary" passion and knowledge for whitetails. I always found it intersting that by awards time on Sunday of each Classic, Larry knew exactly how many Boone and Crockett whitetails were in the building. He counted the ones in the competition, the Hall of Fame and all the Boones in the exhibitors booths every year.

Personally I have lost a friend and mentor. If I needed an answer about whitetail deer Larry was the person I counted on and he always delivered.

My sympathies to Larry's family.

I wish Larry and his(and ours)good friend Larry Raveling nothing but Booners.

It is always sad when you loose someone who had so much enthusiasm and love for our sport.
