Life is short

One of my uncles best friend, my dads good buddy and the guy who always insisted he was pushing on our deer drives was killed today when he was operating an auger and got into to a high voltage line.
I wasn't that close to him but I always was happy to talk with him he was a great guy. He left behind a wife and two young daughters that were his life. He was there dad and basket ball coach.

Its a real bummer when someone so nice get the short end of the stick.

I really don't know why I'm posting this here. He wasn't a member that i know of but I feel like I should. My best friend was killed a few years ago and I was unlucky enough to get the page for a car accident. It bothered me up for a long time. All I can think of are those two little girls, his wife and a whole pile of friends that are going to feel like [censored] for a long time.
Our shotgun season will never be the same.

Well miss you Rocky

very sorry to hear the news DBL. Sounds like a great guy left early. Sympathy to his family.

It is going to be hard for everyone that was close to him and you'll remember him every December.
That's a testament to a good father and friend.
He didn't get the short end of the stick though...it's all of us left behind.

...all the more reason not to put off til tomorrow what can be done (or said) today! Take the trip, buy the flowers, write the letter, give the hug, tell her how much you love her.....

That is a sad story, terrible tragedy for his family. Too many good people leave our world each year in farming accidents, be safe in whatever you do.

Seems the worst things happen to the nicest people. Life is not fair and is way to short. Prayers and thoughts are on the way.

Here's something that someone posted about Rocky on a newspapers website.

He and Connie's dedication to N-K's athletics is something his girls will surely be proud of. The ball diamond he built on volunteer time will no doubt be appreciated for many generations. My daughter could not have had her first "coach-pitch" season be as successful if it wasn't for Coach Rocky. He will be missed in a lot of little girls' hearts forever. Thanks for what you did for us, Rocky. We'll miss you!"

I too, am sorry to hear about the loss of a young father and husband. I'll be lifting up his family in my prayers.

And for the rest of you all, hey, be careful out there.

Sound like he left a great legacy while he was here and will be remember for years to come. He achieved in a short amount of time what most people wont get accomplished in a lifetime. That is awesome he built a ball diamond for kids and that tells me enough about the kind of guy he ways even though I never met him. My prayers will be with his family and friends who lost a great person.
Also on a side note you posted this sad occasion on here because you we are like family and it is a way to vent your feelings.
