You said to throw away the pretty girl that came with the prettyboy. I was wondering if they changed them this year. The one that came with mine doesn't look anything like the one there using in the demonstration video it came with. Just wondering if its a new style. On there video they were putting a rock in it to hold it down. The one I got doesn't even have a bottom.

Last year was the first year I have ever had decoys work for me so I would know a good looking decoy if I saw it.

Thought You would be the person to ask.

Thanks

I could be wrong but I think Limb is using the Pretty Girl decoy...

I think you just stick the rock up inside, at least that's what I did with mine.

That hen decoy in front of the pretty boy in Limb's picture isn't the pretty girl, it is some other brand

In the other post he said it was a buck wing. I'm just wondering if theres a new style out I don't want to throw it. If it the same one that limb was refering to I will use my old hen and keep prettygirl in the garage.

You really don't need to throw it out. We got a double shooting over the pretty boy and pretty girl last year. I don't think the gobblers really focus on the pretty girl anyways. They are completely focused on the pretty boy. The only reason I quit carrying it is because when you haul the pretty girl inside of the pretty boy, and go to set it up at dark o thirty after about 3 hours of sleep for the night, it is about impossible to do it quiet enough to set up as close as I like to get to them in the morning

I guess if I wasn't lazy and tired in the mornings I would probably unpack all my stuff and separate them before making that last 100 yards in the dark

Yeah that is a buckwing in the picture. I think the noise factor from the hard shell decoy was most peoples complaints with the pretty girl. If they have changed that you are probably good to go with her.

I set up my "flock" to get the creases out and see what they look like.

I bought the expanders for my old foldups also.

The sun was warm yesterday and I was able to get the buckwings to a more "natural" state.

I think I'll give my pretty girl a try...after watching the DVD I'd say Liv is right...those toms came blasting in to the Pretty Boy scarcely even looking at the hen.

My tents are older (never heard of a Double Bull when i bought these) but they work ok.

At least I can set up in open areas so I won't have to worry about noise so much.

That hen looks much better than the one that came with mine. I wouldn't be afraid to use that one if mine had looked like that. I have had different reactions when the hen is on the ground vs. up on the stake. But, my main issue with the hen decoy that is supplied with the decoy is that it is very noisy. I use the buckwing pictured above...

I agree with Limb, that pretty girl looks a 1000 times better than the one that came with mine last year. I would actually use that one

Great pic!

Do you guys spray any paint on the buckwing decoys? I bought a couple and they look super shiny. Like just enough to dull them?

Shiny is good, the sun reflects brilliantly off a real turkeys feathers, don't change a thing on them.
