I am pretty happy with my 1977 Chevy Blazer and how it has turned out so far. Last week I and some buddies in IA put a 4" lift and some 35" tires on it. I removed the doors and the top and left them behind in IA at our other home for now. I removed all of the carpeting and did a herculiner truck bed rubber coated bed liner over the entire interior. We trailered it out to CO Thursday. I expected a rough ride but it rides better than it ever has and is our new mountain toy. I bought 3 seatbelts at a salvage yd before I left and my boy and I installed them in the rear for the bench seat yesterday. Now I need a roll bar and a winch. So far I have about $3500 in it. I will store it in the winter and I plan on never putting the top or doors back on it. It is cool as hell to drive this around town and up on the mountain trails and roads. I had considered selling it and not bringing it to CO but that would have been a mistake. Everybody has mountain toys here. I thought that I may have to have it rejetted for the altitude or timing advanced but I have had it up to 10,000 ft and it still runs well. Most of my driving around here is 7000-9000 ft. It has a 350 motor in it. It used to really need an overdrive in it but now that it has 35" tires it runs awesome and moves right down the road.
