This is the first of three after allot of cutting and clearing.
This is Tecomate Alfalfa feast with some clover around the outside. With big bluestem at the top.

This is a strip of rye coming up leading to my 2nd plot. Tecomate Bucks and Bosses. I like this one the best so for. Just because it's nice and thick.

To the north of the rape and turnip plot I cut a path to the road and tied the fence down so they can pritty much step over it and it leads up to the plot. They had a trail at the south end of this plot that I blocked off with some trees I cut down. Hopefully it'll push them by my stand.
Did allot of cutting and clearing and more cutting to get these little plots in. But I'm very happy with the out come so far.
I guess when bow season opens it'll be the real test.
Hope you enjoyed.

This is my 2nd plot.

Windwalker,
Not allot of turkeys in there anymore. They all seemed to have left after it got logged about 3 years ago. Still some good roosting trees in there but they just don't hang out in there like they used to.
Used to have deer and turkeys in the pasture to the south in the mornings. But haven't seen that in years. Maybe this will help get them back in.
Want to plant some switchgrass and more big bluestem to replace all the weeds. Specially the beggars lice.

Thanks everyone for the words of ecouragement.

I personally love those plots with a few trees in the mix, I think its so cool to see plot broken up like that. I also like the paths or corridors you have, make the deer work a little instead of a nice circular or rectangular shape. You are forcing them to investigate what they cant see right away, great job, cool plots!!!!!!!!!

From the last couple pics of the rape, turnips and rye I had high hopes for that plot. Started off great but now it looks like all the rape and turnips are gone. They're are some but it looks like the rye took over or something ate most of the turnips and rape. What is left is smaller than they were in the last pic.
Good thing I took the advice and planted rye or I think it would be just dirt now. All the rye planted is doing great probably at least 6 to 8 inches. Looks like it needs mowed. Hopefully the corn will start coming out soon but doesn't look promising.
Had A little fawn eatin some the other day just talked myself into shooting her then mom popped out so I passed and thought she would come up the same way. She didn't. Seems like them old does are harder to kiil than bucks sometimes. I'll get her though. She gave me and the boy the slip. Not so much the boy he just got nervous and didn't shoot.
