I was reading some reviews on these and they claim that Scoutguard says they are not weather proof. I find that hard to believe. Do you strap them to the tree the way they are. They showed guys building housings for them to keep the rain off. Just wondering. I think I would like to get rid of my two Vman p41 cams for two of these just because I am scared to leave the Vmans up on public just because they are much bigger.

I think we debunked that claim in an earlier thread. Sounds like there is no need for the add on weather proofing... /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

I noticed in the owner's manual that it still states that they are not weatherproof, a tad troubling, but yet I didn't protect mine when I put it out. The garden hose test they did on Chasinggame gives me some comfort.

Sorry Skully I misread the manual it is 8 MB to 2 GB. I am using 2 GB cards. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

I have no idea on how the batteries did. I did not take the remote control to plug in and without that, you really can't tell much about the camera. I hope that I will be good for some time as I put eight 8X AA lithium Engergizers in it last Sunday. I had right at 100 pics this past week in that brutal cold, so that maybe made a dent in the batteries. We will see.

I went to pull the memory card today and the batteries were dead. It appears they died July 3, as the camera created a folder on the brand new SD card I inserted, but never took a pic. So from Jan. 5 to July 3, not bad battery life and I could only guess at the total number of pics.
