Long story short got a new phone. Pretty sure it's called the Android or something.

Anyway, what sort of apps do any of you recommend? Thus far I only have some weather apps because I NEED those and I found an old school Yahtzee knock off that will be sweet in the turkey blind.

Any others?

Duh, obviously free ones. :way:

Google Earth is large, but sweet...

If you're a star gazer, Google sky map is sweet.

If you want to kill your apps so they are not running all the time and wearing down your battery, get the Advanced Task Killer

Bible

compass

mp3 music download - usually find any song to listen to (most times)

Pandora...

scoremobile (only because espn's doesn't work with my phone)

Wallpaper maker - because if you take a picture, it zooms way in if you make it your background. This allows you to format it to the size of your viewing screen.

Those are all of mine...they do take up some space.

Tip - turn off your GPS. it drains your battery very quickly...

One I really like is BackCountry Navigator... Topo and aerial maps and is really fast.. I tried using google earth but it takes a long time to download each time I pan back and forth or zoom.. I think I spent like $10 on it though... also got a craigslist app.. that's pretty cool

If your a fisherman, The navionics App is awsome, especially for ice fishing big lakes. It shows more detail on leech lake than my 10" Lorance does

I second the Navionics app....it's freckin' awesome.

I had the advanced task killer on mine but was told by the Sprint store that droid phones already have a task killer built in them so to add another one actually causes problems...not sure if that's true or not.

Pandora = best app of all time. I want a blue tooth player in my truck/boat to run Pandora so I never ever have to listen to another stupid DJ ever again and never have the same playlist (ie, Ipod, CD, etc).

Weatherbug is my weather app...

Youtube....the videos never get old.

Craigslist.

I had a bunch more but found I never did anything with them so I've taken off everything I don't use daily so my phone runs faster.

I hate my droid and can't wait to get rid of it and get an iphone....
:way: good luck with that thing

Weatherbug is also my weather app...really like that one

Zedge is pretty good if you like different ring tones...quotes from movies are always funny

I downloaded Mag Flashlight...just in case I guess. I was pretty impressed with the amount of light that thing produces.

Moviefone if you want to check what theatres have what movies.

NFL mobile

Lookout antivirus is a must. Sundroid for sunrise/sunset data. Backcountry navigator is awesome for topos. Angry birds is a fun free game for the turkey blind. Gas record for tracking fuel usage. Flashlight app uses the camera flash LED. There are tons more good ones.

Lookout antivirus is a must .

hahaha, NOT with that apple crap....

AT&T service sucks, but the iphone is far superior and will shortly be available for Verizon. i have had a droid for a year now and can have extensively played with the iphone... trust me, far better machine. same goes for PCs vs Mac.... why people use anything but that Apple crap is beyond me....

But what do I know
:moon:

good luck with that thing

luck?

i have a fully functional brain, shouldn't be a problem. you're the first person to say something negative about the droid, must be operator error on your end. :D

seriously though, quit hijacking my thread dillhole. :way:

I have an old, beat up Sanyo flip-phone and sometimes, I can even access the internet with it. Beat that!

a few games I like
"Throttlecopter"
and of course "angry birds".

For a good laugh, the "demotivators" app is a classic...

couple other cool ones are the touch to talk app- "TiKl"

"Bluff my call", if you wanna screw with people

THA$ throwing $$$$ at Apple. :D

ya, that was an infomercial.... i get a monthly check for $10,000 just for mentioning their product on IW..... Pretty sweet gig.

Heaven forbid I actually know what I'm talking about.
:moon:
:drink2:
:thrwrck:

I use:

Time2Hunt
Sundroid
Moonshine
The Weather Channel
My Tracks

I have the Advanced Task Killer that Gladiator mentioned and thought it worked well because a few different apps seem to open and run in the background all by themselves. But... recently i read where the Android phones use more of a Linux operating sysytem and these programs are not really running and using up valuable memory like a Windows operating system does. They said that using a task killer would cause more harm to your phone than good in the long haul.

Take that for what it's worth and do a google search on it if you want more detailed info. I still feel the need to kill apps and sometimes wondered if the guy that wrote that article really knew what he was talking about.
