Gives a NR landowner an option to hunt his farm every year.
 
Hardwood, you're exactly right, however, it's the same argument used against NR landowners when we ask for a guaranteed tag for the season of preference. I would rather bow hunt and as we know it's a three year wait.

Droptines. Not dictating anything. Simply mentioning we like to bow hunt in lieu of party hunting every year, that's all. I will gladly hunt with a weapon that gives me 4 times the range of a bow per your regs. Thanks Horse Doctor for pointing that out.

It just wouldn't be Iowa Whitetail without nonresidents complaining about the very rules and regulations that created a resource that made them want to hunt here in the first place. LOL!

Sounds like it might be time to start lobbying against the nonresident gun doe tags due to the amount of fraud and abuse. I know a few CO's that wouldn't mind seeing the change. We were successful in eliminating the nonresident doe tags for bow season due to the abuse. I don't see much difference. Party hunting will likely never go away, but those doe tags sure might.
 
Nobody was complaining. I will hunt shotgun every year if need be. Good to see you again Fletch. You disappear every year for ten months and show up for the January/February NR landowner bash session you enjoy flaming. This year I will not indulge, play with yourself.
 
A better way to manage the property with some type of fair priced doe tag system for nr landowners would help prevent the late season rifle season from coming into play.

If you look at the DNR website....it says no season in 2014. What does that mean it could come back?

Fletch is back! Start lobbying then dude. You must not understand whitetail deer if you think the only reason why Iowa has good deer hunting is because you limit NR tags. Timing of the gun season is the reason guy I hate to break it to you.

Never said it was the "only" reason. (you knew that) But, it certainly is a piece of the puzzle that has made Iowa what it is. No gun season during rut is another obvious reason. Open access to ground used to be another piece of the puzzle that helped to maintain a healthy herd balance. But, we all know what is happening there too. That is the elephant in the room that you would rather ignore. :rolleyes:

My New Years resolution is not to argue on iowa whitetail so I hope NRs get the same amount of privileges as residents. In the end we are all Americans! MERICA! I hope they don't allow anyone to use crossbows unless they are disabled! I hope they end party hunting! I hope they go to one buck per year! I hope they raise the trespassing punishment to death penalty! I hope they make it illegal to kill any buck your neighbor deems unworthy! Did I miss anything? Let me know so I can hope for ya!

I can't read your mind so no way for me to know your round about thinking on this tag issue. The only thing I can read from your posts is you care about one issue.

Making sure NR hunt as little as possible in Iowa. You rarely comment on anything else.

I sincerely hope it's an over reaction on my part, because if it isn't we have reached an all time low on Iowawhitetail.com, I don't care which side of the issue you are on.
