PH drill questions

Looking at PH drills what are the big differences between g series and m series?
I’m wanting a drill to do basic plots clovers, beans, brassicas but also be able to do switch (RC). Do you need the fluffy seed box for switch? Is the small seed box necessary?

Thanks

We’ve been getting a lot of questions about our M-Series drill and how it differs from the G-Series. The M-Series is meant to be an entry level machine without all of the frills that you wold get with the G-Series, which is our premium machine. Our goal was to see more people able to afford a no till machine and get on board with better soil conservation practices.
Here’s a list of some of the differences. #PHOutdoors
The weight is lower on an M-Series. The M5 is 500# lighter than the G5.
The M-Series will be just one model, the M5, for 2025.
The M-Series has a packer roller instead of individual packer wheels.
The M-Series will not have a variable speed gearbox.
The M-Series will have a gate setting for seed size the same as the G-Series.
The M5 depth setting will be with a packer roller.
The M5 will use a slide opening on the seed elements for seed calibration.
The M5 will have a weight bar and weights the same as the G-Series.
The M5 will have the same drive wheel as the G-Series.
The spacing of the planting coulters is the same as G-Series.
There are only two front stand legs on the M-Series.
The hopper capacity on the M-Series is slightly smaller.
The M-Series will not have bin dividers available.
The M-Series will not have wheel kits available.
The M-Series will be able to use the same row blockers.
The M-Series will not fit with the small seed box or native seed boxes.
The M-Series will not have optional front coulters.
The M-Series will have the calibration tray.

That’s good to know. Thanks. Would like to get a good used one to save bit but from what little I’ve looked they seem really hard to find.

Seems like this is basically at Great Plains 3P500.

At least you can get a small seed box on the GP, as well as individual closer wheels for better depth control...
