Land of the Whitetail
I was watching the Outdoor Channel the other day and they had an interesting show on. There is this place where they have pen raised deer. What they do is try to find genetic lines so that they can breed deer specifically to have certain features, i.e. droptines, non-typicals, mass, typicals. I was thinking it was pretty neat until I learned they are doing this so then people can come down and purchase a deer for their own farms. Once someone buys one they bring it to their farm or wherever they hunt and realease it. They can buy a deer at anytime. What is stopping someone from doing this and then shooting it and having a big Boone and Crockett deer for the books? I don't know all the details, but I think stuff like this needs to come to an end. It is ruining hunting. What are some of your views?
