Definitely some head bangin' going on out there in east central Ia. He got himself busted off sometime in the last 48hrs.

This nice 8 had a doe locked down on a brushy crick today.

Checked a few cams, here's a couple mid-day buck. I assume they both bred 1 doe so far and were looking for #2. Time to hunt mid-day!

The bucks are sorting things out here. Breeding should start by end of the week.

Had a 2 year old and a forkie pushing the girls around this morning. Nine point 2 yr old worked a scrape I was hunting, 10 am.

Definitely some rut action going on now, not quite peak breeding, but bucks are cruising and my son saw one locked down with a doe today.

From roughly 7am to 11am yesterday, I had nine different bucks and six does either chasing or cruising the area in southern Warren county. Most movement I had seen for the week. Bad thing is I had to come back to work today. Will be back at it next weekend.

Was regretting having vacation today with it being hot. I think the big boys are locked with the first hot does. I happened to watch a pair in the crp and put the slip on

It's been slow in Madison County since the weather warmed up. Only saw activity the first 30 minutes and last 30 minutes on Saturday and Sunday.

Deer moving good for me this morning. Does and fawns still together but 3+ yo deer following and on their feet.

I watched a big 6 point breed a doe a couple of times this morning. They were standing in Indian Creek in Cedar Rapids, right in town. Pardon the grainy pic, I took it out of my truck window while sitting on the side of the road. Let's just say that he was...preoccupied! He was wider than his ears, not a bad buck!

The only thing moving today are the Asian lady beetles and flies, and they are moving real good

This morning on my 30 mile drive to work deer were everywhere. Saw 3 dandies. 1 with a doe ans 2 running trying to find the next one.

Yup, I passed a 3 yr old chasing a doe right down the bicycle lane on O Ave this evening, pretty close to Methwick. They were holding their lane nicely, no swerving so I don't suspect any alcohol was involved. Just a little jacked up on testosterone I guess.
