Very interested in fishing the South Dakota walleye lakes but don’t want to get overwhelmed and take a ton of time to figure it out. Would anyone have a good first timer lake to visit?

Going up there for a few days in July and staying on Roy Lake. Wound up hiring a guide for a day. He said the biggest daily decision isn’t to fish where the fish are biting but where to fish depending on the winds. Guess there aren’t many calm days up there. He said most all the lakes are full of fish!

Just got back from 5 days in Webster Sd. The fishing was good…4 of us limited out everyday but one on walleyes.

There’s so many lakes in the area, it’s easier than it should be to find a bite. Waubay, Bitter, Lynn, Middle Lynn, Optiz, Pickerel, Cattail/kettle, and stink have all been good to us throughout the years at different times.
