Sugar beets

Has anyone on here ever planted sugar beets in a food plot? If si how'd they do?

Here in western ky a farmer close to me planted raddish after harvesting his corn this year and deer are hittin them really good. Would the sugar beets be better for early season or for a fall/winter plot? Thanks fellas

Deer eat the sugar beets tops early and ones you get a hard frost they eat the bulb.

I have used them with good results. The cost of the seed can be an issue $15.00 for 1 lb. vs. 5 lbs of purple top turnips for the same money. I would recommend creating a blend of sugar beets, turnips, and other brassica.

never tried this thing with me but would like to say that i will try this stuff on my plot with the suggestions given here
