I believe you but that makes no sense. If someone is innocent give them their property back immediately. What the hell.
 
Big difference between sharing with friends or sharing in general and creating a website and selling replicas for 2500$. I couldn't care less that he shot any buck. I do care he is pimping it it such a classless fashion. I am in no way jealous. If I shot any buck of any size I wouldn't care if anyone knew. As long as I could look at it and remember the story behind it that is all that matters.

Not to stir the pot but I'll share my ignorance one more time.

Currently I think the DNR can keep confiscated items even if found innocent. I say that because of this proposed bill:

There is a lot of verbiage in the bill that leads me to believe they (DNR) can currently keep anything they confiscate. Also new is the 30 days to appeal a condemnation of any contrivance/nuisance used in committing the act if found guilty. In other words if the DNR confiscates your rock as evidence that you illegally killed something you can petition the courts to get your rock back even if found guilty.

If you read the post in the Legislative Forum regarding this bill I supported this bill. I can't believe there is a practice that the State can keep anything regardless of a finding of innocence. And like I said in the post I may be wrong on the State's ability to do so in which case I am an ignorant pot stirrer.
 
If that is truly the case I'll be going to the DNR and have them hack the rack off and give me my art back. This communist organization doesn't deserve it
 
Wonder how far up the legal "ladder" this type of case would go before justice prevailed? Regardless of who replaces Scalia, if they can't prove you guilty, you should get all your stuff back! No way this stands a serious legal challenge & I suspect Franz may have the support to prove it.
 
The judge can order the belongings to be returned. Been through that before. Once the judge makes the order the co has 7 days to return said belongings back to the VICTIM!
 
This whole case is disgusting to hunting. Both sides are what's wrong with whitetail hunting now. The dnr searching to make an example out of a deer that should promote the state. A questionable charge they couldn't prove. Then a guy who buys a farm to kill a big whitetail the next year. A guy who has paid a fine for same charge previously, then sells farm after. I don't care either way, $$$ has changed a once great hobby!!!
 
I have to ask though, back in the day when the laws were made the rules for the enforcement of game laws are/were different than the enforcement of other laws. Why? What did the law makers at that time know that we have forgotten or just don't know?

Ditto, I have the same question. Based upon the facts of the case, I am glad to hear that the fortunate hunter was found not guilty. Is it really true that he will not, or may not, get his head back? If true, that is just crazy!

Not guilty is not innocent. The govt couldn't prove when the tarp was placed over the site. I'll say it again with conviction. Let's see. The plywood covering the mineral has a bar code dating the sale after his kill. But oh wait. According to him and his son in law the tarp under the plywood had been there since before season. That's up there with I didn't know fast I was going and the weed under my seat isn't mine. God Bless our Leo's across the nation, toughest job on the planet. You're damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Do you just personally hate the man or just another jealous deer hunter. Those mineral sites had nothing to do with him killing that deer that day.
 
Jealousy is a serious problem among the hunting community.... its sad when you think about it. We should celebrate others success, not try to tear down there success.

It makes me sick how jealous and judge-mental people are anymore. I don't know the guy, I talked with him a few minutes at the ATA show. My first impression of him I'll keep to myself.

The mineral didn't have anything to do with him killing the deer, I'm convinced of that. Look it is perfectly legal to hunt of bait here in Kentucky. Hunting over mineral would be a total joke. I run cameras year around over my mineral sites, bucks hit them 1 to 4 times a month during hunting season and it is under darkness 99% of the time. You might kill one deer over mineral licks 1 time in your life but the odds are heavily against it. You are 100,000 times better off hunting over a scrape and 100,000,000 times better off hunting over a good food source.

Congrats to Mr. Franz on winning and getting his buck back! I don't show off my bucks or stories to anyone but my close friends or PMA members. There is a reason I don't, I don't want the issues that come along with shooting a big buck and the doubters that come along with it. It makes me sick!!!!

If he wasn't going to cover up the mineral sites ahead of time, why on earth would he call the local game warden and a week before he was going to start hunting and ask him what he should do about the two mineral sites?
