Antelope Canyon
We returned last week from a winter marathon of National and State parks in SW Utah and Arizona. The visit included Zion NP, Snow Creek Canyon, Monument Valley, Grand Canyon,Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon.
Antelope Canyon is just outside of Page AZ and its on the Navajo Reservation. This is federal land and the only way to access it is with a tour company. We researched the site on the web but it was last on our list to visit.
Everywhere we went there were pictures of these slot canyons in motels, restaurants, gas stations so we had to make the visit happen. We booked a tour and were taken by a small tour bus driven by a native that seemed very blah.
Once we entered the slot canyon he came to life. He took out smartphones and changed the filter to get great photos. On the 1/4 miles walk through the slot he knew just where to stand to get photos that the human eye wouldn’t pick up.

The guide took this picture of us using pano mode.
When we got back to the car he was given a generous tip. If you get the chance to visit I highly recommend it. Put your camera on vivid warm filter and take plenty of pictures.
