Tree Planting

I stopped pounding a post in when the spade gets about half way in the ground for that exact reason. So far zero effects when removing post on trees. My assumption was the spade wasn't deep enough to get into any serious root issues.

Be careful if you mow next to a post with an exposed fluke...they can tear up a sidewall on your mower tire real quick like. (Don't ask me how I know. )

I'm just going to cut my posts off when they get to the point of needing it. I try to use 3/4 in PVC pipes whereever possible, but the t-posts sure are nice for expensive fruit trees for added security from heavy winds and angry bucks.

Not the best year on Plums in Mn, but I have quite a few that had fruit .
