Turkey Choke Tube SBEII

Anyone have any good suggestions on an extra full choke tube that works well in a Super Black Eagle 2? Also, what brand and size shot are working best for you? Thanks.

You may already know this, but I found that 3-1/2" shells did not pattern well and I went away from them years ago. 3", 5 shot is my SBE turkey load. The tube is a HS Undertaker.

I have been very pleased with my Pure Gold. The Kicks Gobblin Thunder chokes are good also. They offer different choices, from .655 to .670

Pure Gold is also offering a new choke called the Tempest for Federal ammo with the flight control wad. I personally shoot Nitro Ammunition out of my 835 Turkey gun with a .670 Pure Gold and am getting phenomenal hit counts out to and beyond 40 yards.

I would also highly recommend Nitro Ammo in either straight 7's or a mix of shot. Give them a call, nice people and extremely knowledgeable about patterning your shotgun. :way:

holy crap! does that mean you chipped a couple extra coins outta your crack, and bought a big-boy gun??

This is a dumb question, but I don't know much about shotguns and chokes... what's the .655 and the. 670? Choke constriction?

yup!

The constriction will have a great effect on your pattern density. There is a wealth of knowledge on some of the forums (old tom is a good one) on your gun and recommended tubes and loads. Each gun is different though, so find what your guns likes.

Yeah, I figured that I'd have to sign up on another forum or two that is really in tune with the pattern specifics of the gun and the shot size/brand best for it. Dangit.

I wasn't being sarcastic to be honest, figured there were more guys out there with the info I'd need to narrow it down. Thanks for the link tho.

I shoot the primos jellyhead with my sbe 2. Paired with winchester supreme 3.5 4's it is a deadly combo for me. Not overly expensive choke but has done me well for the last 3 years!

I do not personally know Muddy but after being on this forum for a while there is no way he is going to pay $6.00 - $7.00 per shell on Nitros and I wouldnt blame him although they are un-freaking-real.

I don't personally know him either, but judging by the gear he uses and the clothing he wears, I'm not so sure he's the tightass that he's portrayed to be. :D

I still can't believe he is gun hunting turkeys.

$6 - $7 a trigger pull ......... thats crazy.

No... 3.40/gallon for gas is crazy........ 6 dollars to jelly the head of a Gobbler is pure enjoyment. :D

HAHA think about how much it costs per arrow with archery tackle and it doesn't seem so bad.

I shoot my arrows more than once. They are way lower cost than 6 or 7 bucks a trigger pull. I don't know about Muddy but I don't mind spending $$ on gear that will last.

Yes gas prices are crazy but I'm to lazy to ride a bike or walk:)

Very true words. Spending small/moderate amounts of money on stupid things is NOT how I roll. I'll save up and get something worth while that will last me 10x as long.

I'd have no problem buying high dollar ammo IF it is heads and shoulders above the normal stuff, which I'm not convinced it is just yet.

I am fall turkey hunting with a gun, next spring I'm not sure yet, but it's been a LONG time since I've done some true "running and gunning" and it might be time to switch things up.... probably not though.
