Turkey down

Mike Freel (Mitchellville) and his daughter Jenny came down to my place to do a little turkey hunting this weekend.

I just got an email from Mike. He weighed Jenny's turkey when they got home.

It was 26 lbs.

Her shot was 25 yards and she was using her Grandfathers 16 ga.

Great bird, Jenny! Besides weighing 26 pounds, it looks to have a really decent beard. And to do it with your Grandpa's 16 gauge.

The first "big bore" (bigger than a .410) shotgun I shot was my Grandpa's 16 gauge.
