There's 4 Topics & bills going on now... The 2 most important at the moment are: SF363 (formerly SF277)– NR family member deer tags (OPPOSE!)
& SF208 – (formerly SF175) Second Chance Bow.Tags which were designed by the Crossbow Lobbyists (Paid for by Ravin Crossbows) as a part of their 3 step process to get Crossbows during the regular Archery season. STEP BY STEP!!!!! Ravin Lobbyists have stated they are going for full crossbow use during archery... They are doing it incrimentally by design.

—No crossbows during archery season!!! Which is the Crossbow Lobbyists stated goal after they step-stone to getting there! We already have them for Seniors, Disabled folks & during late season, leave them there!
—The only group asking for crossbows during archery season is the crossbow manufacturers! A company like Ravin crossbows out of NY that only wants to make $ with no regard to how it harms the hunters of this state. It's not the citizens or hunters of this state asking for this, it's the crossbow lobby!
—Iowa is <8% timber, 4+ months of hunting season & 6+ weapon choices as it is. Iowa is the last great special state while almost all others have been ruined by special interests.
—ACCESS TO QUALITY LAND is causing resident hunter declines! Permission access is how the vast majority of hunters get access in Iowa., SF362 will destroy this. Same with crossbows in archery season! When Resident hunter #'s decline further & tag revenue also declines, there will not be the hunters here to control deer #'s!
—I STRONGLY OPPOSE SF363 &/or it being added to the Means & Ways Commitee. This legislation will lock up countless parcels of land & displace thousands of resident hunters!
—SF363 is an enforcement nightmare for our DNR officers that are already spread thin.
—SF363 has estimates of 10,000 to ?_______? "sky is the limit" amount of NR hunters coming here. By definition, this bill will absolutely displace THOUSANDS of Iowa Residents!
—Please stop legislation that has recently favored NR's over the Residents of this state! Please don't make this an elitist sport & promote more farms being locked up for access. Support things that promote access to quality land for the residents of this state.
—Please remember, Iowa is 48th out of 50 for public land! Residents are struggling as we speak to acquire permission.
—The deer population is down 25% in the last 10 years. There's 3 tools in place NOW to deal with the pockets of high #'s.... 1) Depredation tags in place currently. 2) Landowners are paid to enroll their land into public walk-in that gets deer heavily removed. 3) Every DNR officer has a list of hunters who are willing to come to any farmers land to hunt for does. More hunters on the list than landowners that will allow them.
JOIN IBA!!!! It's the only organization that defends Iowa. It's the only reason Iowa hasn't crumbled like all of the other states in midwest. It's our only & main defense + FOLKS LIKE YOU THAT WRITE IN & SHARE THIS!!!
