Vizsla or Weimeriner...

muddy

Well-Known Member
Think I may have the wife convinced that we need to finally get a dog... anyone able to recommend a good Vizsla or Weimreiner breeder in the state?

Buy a Shorthair........They'll hunt harder for you, and they're easier to pronounce.

Get a Lab muddster, that way if you ever figure out how to have kids you will have a awesome dog that you will never have to worry about with them. LOL

You've obviously never been around a good vizsla.

teeroy, your neighbors have purebreds? any upcoming litters?

muddy, yes, they are purebred, and i thought he mentioned awhile back that his female had just been bred. i'll make a call and see what's up

If I didn't watch the show and only saw this pic of Dilana I'd call her a hottie.

Go with a Brittany, smarter, calmer, easier to handle and train, and all around better hunters. But that's my biased opinion.

I still dont know who she is. I gotta get out more...

Actually, minus the leather and tatoos, she looks just like my mother-in-law.

I like the Brittany's too, biased also since I grew up with them. However, I love Vizslas and that will be my first hunting dog. Just glad to see you are finally getting one Mud, you will have a blast with him/her

I currently hunt behind a 5 yr old German Shorthair, and that will be my next dog. Great worker, and good with my daughter at home. I've hunted behind Brittanys and Weimeriners before, but definately prefer Shorthairs.

I have heard a lot of good things about Vizslas though.

My $.02... Shorthair

I've raised and hunted behind shorthairs for the majority of my bird huting past so I'm a little biased. But in my opinion you won't find a harder hunting dog than a shorthair!

The great thing about shorthairs is that they will hunt hard for you all day and lay their head on your lap all night. Mine loves the couch. The most loyal hunters out there and great family dogs.
