I have friends (WITH very good hunting LAND) in Iowa that would like me to hunt with them yearly, but Im not the type to buy a doe tag and come down and kill a buck and have a local tag it, (Happens all the time).

Your State is messed up on givin doe tags to NR's and still allowing "Party hunting"
</div></div>

I wonder how excited your friends would be about you coming down to hunt their land when an outfitter was offering them $60.00+ per acre to lease their ground or a NR was offering them $5000+ per acre to buy their "very good hunting land"?

I have heard of family members that were kicked off the family farms for a lot less money let alone a friend that lives in a different State. So I'd be careful what you wish/hope for.

On your second point I couldn't agree more! </div></div>

It will all come to an end someday, deer hunting is and will never be like it used to.

It's a rich mans game now, us old school hunters that used to hunt where ever with a hand shake, are screwed.

There's a whole bunch of people who'd love the average Iowa hunter to believe that. Myself, I try not to be a sheep. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

you don't sound like one of those old school hunters...you sound like one of those arrogant jerks that wants to ruin it for the rest of us...those old school hunters wouldn't show up on a web site pushing people's buttons about such an issue, or any issue for that matter.

Deer hunting right now is better than it ever has been. Believe me if I'm in the game it's not a rich man's game.

Also, who exactly are you affiliating with when you refer to "us old school hunters"? From what I've seen of your posts, I wouldn't say you have the same ideals as 99% of the people on this site.

Old school? Hmmm? Someone that remembers being able to hunt most anywhere without paying thousands of dollars.

Are you in?
