You could run into someone cooking meth anywhere. Especially in rural areas like southern Iowa where your from Nanny. Being in the ag business you should be aware of all the anhydrous that gets stolen in these rural areas. You never know when you drive down a dirt road or pull into an abandon farm site that you have permission to hunt if your gonna run into one or more of these low lifes cooking a batch. I would always error on the side of caution when it comes to protecting myself and my family. What really makes me mad is that concealed weapons permits are not like drivers licenses where other states have to honor them. Why can't there be a federal carry permit (other then for law enforcement) where a guy would be legal to carry concealed anywhere in the US?

Honestly, we really don't have much theft of NH3, emphisis MUCH. So far, the ones who have stole it, we or law enforcement has caught. As to where I hunt, alot of friends close by and probably not the best spot for a meth head to cook a batch, but I know that there are spots where the crazys hang out. So I don't know, me personally, I don't and am not going to carry a side arm, but I think its pretty much ones decision if they feel they need it or not. If you need it, carry it, if you have a spot like I do, or not to worried about it, don't. If you are in a spot that may be a threat to you are your family, probably wouldn't be a bad idea to carry one, meth heads will probably have a side arm or a firearm of some kind with them.
