D5000 - good body, new cameras are better I am sure but I am not spending thousands on equipment. 70-200mm Nikon lens - just have to get close.

Those are pretty good cameras, my wife has one of them.The difference is the glass in my lens versus in your lens. The D60 is a consumer camera with a higher f-stop lens. My D5000 is ok but I actually need a ISO body for low light and a bigger lens like 300mm f2.8 etc. your 70 - 200 is probably f5.6 and mine is f2.8 that just makes images clearer and works better in low light.
