I can't prove it but I think the IDNR sells/gives our names to various groups. My 13 year old son has received a few items since drawing a tag last year. Why would the FOI and a couple of outfitters send him a post card? Had to be the IDNR.

My current lasb is named Scout, my 10 year old daughter picked it out. My last lab was named Denali. She was about 90 pounds so the name fit her perfect.

I think the CO's are really pushing for the 180 days becasue their hands are tied right now. It's pretty easy to claim residence and the CO's can't do much about it. I was talking to the CO that lives up the road from us a couple weeks ago and he's really hoping it gets changed to 180 days...

You probably should have explored your options a little more before signing the contract. I would call and ask them if you can do a fire burn instead. Or you could mix a lot native grass seed in with the clover seed. At least in my area, the people at the NRCS seem to be really flexible...

We haven't had much luck planting trees; the deer destroy most everything. Our Cedars are the only trees that have survived. Our last planting was 90% cedars and it looks great. You would be surprised how fast they can take out 2000 spruce trees. But we have a lot of deer in southern Iowa...

There is cheap ground out there, usually sold through an auction. I know of some that went for $1150/acre (very south central) last weekend at an auction. Great hunting ground on top of it. Tim

From what I've been told, 100g of Triple 7 is equivalent to about 115g of black powder. I would stay with a light bullet and try 50-60g of Triple 7. A heavier bullet will cause the gun to kick more. 15 years ago, 70-90g of black powder was the norm. Until the magnum inlines came along. Tim
