    That's all I can say.

    Lefties

As a leftie I must weigh in. I was forced to learn to shoot right-handed. It still feels akward, but not as akward as trying to shoot leftie after so many years. The entire world is against lefties. Every tool, every car, every single accoutrement in life seems to be built for the righties...

    Strutters

I hate to hijack the thread with techie stuff...but if you're resizing large batches of pictures you need to download Pixresizer. http://bluefive.pair.com/pixresizer.htm Get all the image files into a folder on your computer, point the Pixresizer software at that directory, and choose your...

    Generators

There are some big dealers in the DM metro. Ziegler Cat (the new one at Altoona) has a very nice power systems division that could offer up a nice solution. Interstate Power Systems is also a nice outfit to work with. The Kohler line of gas (NG or LP) is what I'd consider the "Cadillac"...

    Generators

As stated above, bigger is better. When you figure what size you need to run everything in your house, multiply again by 1.5 and start shopping with that number. Size your unit so that it doesn't strain under normal load. It's easy to think of ways to "get by" when looking at the price tag...

Who isn't using 2" Blazer vanes or tried them yet?

I don't know if you're hurting your arrow flight, but I fletch my Blazers with a straight clamp and a little bit of offset. They've always flown great. Bohning recommends this setup so I've never even tried a helical clamp. I wouldn't think you'd get as much benefit with the helical since the...

Land Leased by a IW Member (UPDATED)

Re: Land Leased by a IW Member My post was tongue in cheek. Sorry to say I'm not the guy the mob is looking to string up!

Re: Land Leased by a IW Member Does this mean you won't keep an eye on the place for me?

    Buying a New Bow

Find a bow shop your like. When you find a good shop with a good guy behind the counter then buy the bow in that shop that feels best to you. Have the guy set it up, ask questions and make him your buddy..then tip him an extra $50 for taking care of you. You'll get better service for the rest...

    Gold Tip 5575 to 7595

I switched to the 7595's two seasons ago and have been real happy as well...although my switch was from Carbon Express. 70# draw, 29.5" shafts with 100 grain Crossfires shoot really, really well on my setup. The 7595's cured my underspined blues.

    Big nine

Wait a minute, gentlemen. 1) We've heard 1 side of this story. 2) It's been stated that the deer was taken legally. In what code of ethics is it stated that any large buck is required to be shouldermounted? While many of the posers on this site would do one thing, many more would do others...

    Rudd's shotgun opener

Glad you're OK, Rudd. I missed a doe in that exact spot (if it's where I'm thinking) about 2 weeks ago.

    oh boy

I'm really curious to see how this new reporting system works. I gotta believe that the wait time on that 800 number is going to be big. I'll be using the net...but worry that an influx tomorrow might bring that site to its knees.

Off Topic: What computer setup would you buy?

I've helped dozens and dozens of people with this same decision. Most of them ended up with a Dell system. If you're looking for something to surf the net, get email, and other light use you can easily pick up a Dell system with a flat panel monitor and 2 year warranty for $800. If you're...

Red Dot or Holosight on my 870

I just picked up a rifled barrel with a cantilevered scope mount for my 870. I'd love to slap a Holosight on it but I'm tempted to buy a red dot as well. Anybody else got an opinion for me? I typically stand hunt on private ground during the gun season in heavy timber. I've never had to/or...

    FRUSTRATION

I saw the exact same thing (or didn't see as the case may be) while hunting from the 3rd thru the 5th. I'll be back out on the 9th thru 12th and am hoping that things pick up a bit. I was blaming the full moon. Perhaps they were already locked down. Maybe it will be a week late in my area...

    Regulations on Quartering Deer

If you're looking at things technically then quartering is the first step of the "processing for consumption."

    Poof.....and they're gone

No kidding. Friday and Saturday yielded 11 hours in the stand...total deer sighted were 2 does kicked up by another hunter on adjoining property. Full moon and warm weather have to be messing things up a little.

    new cabelas in omaha

Until they decide to open a store in Iowa I'll spend my money at Gander Mtn., Scheel's, or Sportsmen's Warehouse. The fact that Nebraska could have 2 outlets and Iowa has none borders on ridiculous.

    backpacks?

I had the same issue this summer...trying to find a small pack for 1/2 day hunts. I never did find anything that I'm real happy with. I actually ended up getting a little pack at Wal-Mart that is about 10"x8" or with a single strap on it. It's got 1 main pocket and a zippered side pocket and...
