    Is this the same buck?

These pics came off the same card and I think they are of different bucks (and not wishful thinking!). The thing that makes me think they might be the same deer is the right G-2 sticker that both bucks have. I think/hope the first 2 pics are one deer and the 3rd pic is another. In the upper...

    youth season loads

My 11 year old daughter is shooting a 180gr hornady sabot with 80gr of pyrodex and shoots it well(I put a recoil pad on my wife's muzzy for her as well). Much less recoil than the youth 20 guage we have.

    plantain

Ever since Paul's post on this last year I've been watching the volunteer plantain growing at my place (mostly along the lane through the fields) and have yet to see any evidence of browsing. I don't know if the variety in the mixes is any more palatable by wildlife but I'm not in any hurry to...

    Rye vs Corn?

I need some input/suggestions. Last august I overseeded rye in about 1/3 of a 1.25 acre bean plot. I normally rotate corn / beans and then alternate every 3rd year with legumes (alfalfa, clover...). My question is, I now have a great stand of rye in that part of the former bean plot and am...

    RR Corn?

You can spray it at any time. I usually try to time it so I only have to spray once but always till the ground prior to planting. Spraying this early you may want to spray it twice.

    Redneck Friday Night...

What could be more fun that playing with fire after work on a Friday? This was the scene of burning our 6 acres of switchgrass 2 weeks ago: It was amazing how much interest the fire generated - even folks stopping to take pictures. We had a neighbor 3 miles away say they could see the...

    Transplanting trees

I agree with the recommendations on size. I've moved a few shingle oaks before and they seem to be readily transplanted. My dad took several off our farm and they all thrived after being moved.

    Monster morel

[ QUOTE ] Find that on a river bottom? [/ QUOTE ] Found it at the edge of the timber along a small hay field near the top of a ridge. The stranger find of the evening was finding about 2 dozen bluegill that had gotten washed out of one of our ponds...usually really good mushrooming below...
