    Which Arrows do you shoot?

I shoot the Red Head Carbon Fury with the Blazer vanes and they seem to fly just fine. Through and though on the deer this year at 30 yds. My first year so I haven't tried anything else but so far those work great for me.

    Handguns

I think from what I've heard and talked too I'm leaning in the way of the XD. After that maybe I'll go get a Taurus or an M&P. What cal. do you all like? The .45 is the obvious knock down power champ but 9mm and 40 cal has a little more control etc. What do you all think?

    Handguns

Hey all. I'm in the market for a new handgun these days but not sure what to get. I have been doing a lot of looking and shot a few. The obvious choice is the SIG but I'm not sure if I want to spend the cabbage. I'm also looking at the Springfield XD and the Smith and Wesson M&P. Just curious of...

    Bowhunting Help

I would agree with the mid range bow. Last year was the first for me and I stepped into a mid range PSE and tagged a decent buck. Biggest advice is to go to the shops and shoot em all. They all feel a little different and you will find one you like that way. Prepare to be addicted, one year...

what have you learned over the years.

This was my first year with a bow and the biggest thing is patience. Stick it out and things will happen. Take in as much as you can from the good folks on here and just go out and try it all. I learned a ton this first year, not only on here but in the woods. Best advice; get out and hunt and...

    Bow Strings and Optics

Makes sense, all of us flatlanders hanging out in Iowa we don't see that much drop. In the mountains thats a whole new ballgame.

    What County do you hunt?

    Boone, Ringgold, Marion and Hancock.

    Bow Strings and Optics

I think I will be going with a rangefinder that I could use for other things as well. With only the minimal difference and for the prices I definately want to get something that I can use for multiple applications. Thanks guys.

    Bow Strings and Optics

So I've been thinking about putting new strings on my bow but was looking for your opinions on which kind you all like. Also, thinking about picking up a Nikon Archers Choice range finder. Just trying to decide if I want to drop the dough. Does anyone have or use one and if so what do you...

    Finally! Buck Down!

So this year is my first ever year to hunt with a bow and I'll tell you I am a bow hunter for life now! On Monday my cousin and I decided to go out for one last day cause that's all I could do. We drove to the farm and sat the morning with little luck. We decided the temps were good so we would...

    Tresspaser

I hope the CO nails this guy to the wall! Pay the fine and give up the gun, then find out what auction they will be selling it at and take it home for yourself!

    Late season hunting advise?

Sat yesterday morning until about 10:30 in timber with little luck. Went out last night and sat the edge of the corn and had about 20 or so does come in around 4-4:15. We had 2 bucks tied up and fighting down the fence row from us and I dropped a nice 8 with my bow at about 4:30. Seemed like the...

    Poachers and Trespassers!

We had first hand encounters with the road hunters this weekend. We were setting out to work a small draw in the middle of the section that holds a lot of deer. After we start out into the section we are suddenly surrounded by trucks on all sides waiting for the deer to run out and I'm sure...

    Sad Sad Story

Peoples utter disrespect and lazyness as hunters has also not done our outdoor sports any favors. No respect for property lines, shooting out of season, at night, out of your truck window, or whatever it may be have also turned a lot of folks against the sports which only makes it harder for us...

    South Dakota hoss

I would say that big boy is a shooter in anybodies neck of the woods! Awesome pic.

    Thoughts on deer numbers...

I would agree that the numbers seen are down a lot. When you sit in places that have been and should be a interstate for deer travel and you see one if any go through something is up. Talking to friends in northern Iowa where the habitat is less than that in the south the farmers have told me...

    Prairie Dog Hunting

The spring is the best time just because of all the little dogs to shoot at. They are small but real dumb and you can shoot all day at them. The hunts in the fall are real big dogs to shoot but they get a lot smarter over the summer especially if they have been shot at. We go 3-4 times a year...
