Ah, I remember the days (and not all that long ago, mind you) when we had to draw for turkey tags in this state. Thankfully, the turkeys have been "doing their thing" and now the populations are high enough that we don't have to draw for tags and each hunter can buy up to three tags.

Can anyone recommend a top notch rabbit distress call that will attract coyotes? I bought a Sceery Cottontail Distress call awhile back, and I may not be blowing it correctly, but to me it sounds awful (and not "awful" in a way that coyotes would find appealing )
The turkey were here first and the pheasants were the immigrants (an introduced species). I've never heard about the two populations affecting each other negatively, but it's an interesting concept to think about.
