My mass tub planting of Chestnuts seemed to work great. Phenomenal roots. Getting these babies to forever homes. Much easier to deal with that individual pots.

Are you going to tube them all?
I have 100-ish from this spring's mass planting but can't stand to intrude planting them right now. Think just planting them in a bundle in the ground would get them through winter for spring planting?
yes I am going to tube them. I am giving many away as well.
I think you could try mass bundle planting for winter. You might lose some but I would think it would mostly work.

Planted acorn to growing acorns 2016-2024.
It’s holding them this year and they’re good sized.
This is the type of Quercus alba that may get people to bite for planting in the urban landscapes since it has more vigor than most white oaks.

Anybody on here do a bunch of Gambel Oak? Not the hybrids? I'm looking at grabbing a whole bunch for next season.
