I feel, in small "hunting type plots". You can manipulate some deer movement to a point. Hang your stand on the predominant downwind side and then stack downed trees 40-60 yards straight downwind. Or, remove all licking branches but one on your foodplot, and leave it in the wheelhouse of your stand. Or, 3-4 weeks before season, properly fertilize the plot in the immediate area in front of your stand. Or if you are really ready, build your plots around a single tree. Build a boomerang or v shaped plot upwind of a great tree. You have to get creative. These are just a few things that work for me. But most importantly, any food plot, any time of year, HUNT THE WIND, NO EXCEPTIONS!!! They know the woods twice as well as you think!!!!
