It doesnt matter to me if I shoot a buck or a doe I just want the meat. It seems like a shame wasting my anysex tag on a doe. If anybody in the Linn County or surrounding area has a buck they want shot, I will gladly use my tag to shoot it and give you the rack if you let me keep the meat. I have a anysex tag for Second season shotgun.

I am sure you will get a lot of offers Greg.I bet there are hundreds of people that love to have racks of bucks that someone else shot hanging in thier homes.
 
:) Never hurts to offer. Maybe they have a management buck they need taken out of the gene pool. Or maybe they dont have enough sheds and they are trying to build one of those antler christmas trees or antler shandeleers :)

Greg your abit of an odd duck, No offense;). Why do you frequent this site that is more or less about antlers, bucks, so on and so fourth when you dont care about them?
 
Greg, I for one think what your are proposing is a good idea. Hopefully you find someone to help you waste as little of the deer as possbile. I guess I just get tired of reading about the haters that want to only talk about how they hate NR tags and special seasons. Good Luck
 
Not sure if I understand? If it doesn't matter to you which sex you kill then why go out of your way to kill a buck for someone else? For someone that doesn't care then why would it be a waste? Shoot another doe and leave the bucks for the ones who want to shoot them themselves.

Yes, I am an odd duck, no offense taken :way:. Im also left handed, go figure...

I am here because I like deer hunting. The board is Iowa Whitetail not Iowa Big Buck :D
 
If Greg is after the meat, there should be more meat to a large management buck vs a doe. Good luck, Greg.
 
Yeah Greg, I should get your cell # becuase I always HUSH most of my does. One call and I'd know that the deer is going to someone who appreciates it. If I manage to put a couple does down this weekend I will try an let you know. Should be cold enough they can rest in the truck and be just fine.

Next year for sure get ahold of you.
 
Good luck patterning and hunting one managment buck during shotgun season!!! Only kidding, it is a nice offer for you to put out there.
 
Seems to me maybe you are in need of a group to go with? if that's not the case I see were you'd shoot a buck due to them having bigger bodies thus having more meat. I guess my suggestion would be to go to a piece of public or whever you can hunt and sit most of the day, odds you see a buck are pretty good during shotgun season. If your not after the antlers any buck should due correct?

Would you do this without the opportunity to have pictures of the buck you harvest?

I really want to shoot the deer myself. If you got some does that need shootin, Id be happy to ablige I have a doe tag for shotgun 2 and 2 doe tags for muzzy. I dont care if its a buck or doe that I shoot, so put me in a spot and tell me which deer you need taken out :) My anysex tag is the only one that can be used outside of Linn county, so its kinda unique.

Seems like a creative way to get access to land to hunt on..

Creative solutions are my specialty. I have land around me to hunt but I feel as tho the population is getting two low, so I would like to find people that have an excess of deer and see if I can come up with a mutually beneficial situation. Not alot of people would trust someone to come into their hunting ground, and I want to try and earn that trust to show them im only going to take the deer they want taken.

I dont need pictures. Ive already shot a decent buck in my lifetime. BTDT. Mines bigger than the one my old man shot, so hes proud and so am I.

These goals are specified in management agreements with the Iowa DNR, and some landowners may need additional hunters to assist them with these harvest goals. I registered for that long time ago, never ever got a call. I just updated my info to make sure they had it.
