Switchgrass

Here's some photos I took this past weekend of the timber/field edge. You can see there is already a pretty good 10 or so yard wide swath of grass/brush between the timber and field edges. Think this is a good idea to try and convert these areas to switchgrass?

My idea would be it would help as a screen getting in/out and also be good edge cover for the deer/turkey?

Worthwhile?

Heck yes! Great edge habitat and field buffer.

Any thoughts on Duracor or Quinclorac timing? I planted some switch again May 1st. Can see some baby plants, but some areas are so choked with foxtail you can't see anything. Would the Quinclorac smoke little switch seedlings? Also seeing some palmer and pigweed sprouts. Is it too soon for Duracor?

Wait like you would 24d. We hadnt known the answer to this question until recently. Buddy sprayed his baby switchgrass and smoked it.

wait till 4 leaf stage.

Is there any specific things to look for when trying to Identify weather you have Young Switch grass or Fox Tail coming up?
I can only tell you what I did. I found post 2363 to be helpful along with my post 2314 which is classic switchgrass. I also tend to post pictures here of what I believe to be switch and others help me understand how I am wrong... :p
