Broadcasted and rolled this one on June 13th. Used Simizine as well.

Here it is 8/1. It takes time to get the stuff going IME.

Went to check my first year switchgrass screenings. Not looking to great. I can see for sure some switch coming up, but its pretty sparse. Seems like most did not germinate. Im wondering if maybe I had to much thatch when i broadcasted seed and I didnt get good seed to soil contact. Some spots where I sprayed and it was all dead and thatch still look the same as the day I broadcasted seed, just thatch on the ground and nothing germinated, hardly even any weeds grew back.

Other spots had a ton of foxtail. Is it safe to spray the foxtail with quinclorac this time of year? I mowed everything down to about the height of what was some of the switch coming up. So mostly about a foot, some spots a little higher and some a little less depending on what I was seeing. Other spots seemed totally barren of any switch.

Here's an example of the foxtail before I mowed it down. In person I thought some of that on the bottom right was young switch, but now thinking its just young foxtail.

I've read/watched youtube videos that first year plantings can be pretty unimpressive. But, I definitely thought I would see more than what I did. Some spots I could see some switch for 100%, then other spots what I thought was switch, but not 100% sure, that young/short foxtail was getting me mixed up.
My switch is worse than this. I was wondering the same thing if it is to late in the year to spray?
