Well, I have a story bout the one that got away. Or more like the one that "never was".
Christmas Eve 2005, my hunting partner and I are out on the ATVs pulling several stands down. We stopped so I could pull a stand and a camera a point that runs out into a swamp with a beaver dam running away from the point. Up high on the point I had placed my camera on the most used deer trail. We stumbled across the fence into the woods and up to my camera. As I knelt down to take my camera of the tree my partner says HOLY SH!+! I look over as he pulls a 67in 6point shed up 6in from my knee. FRESH! Well, wowzza. "Lets go get the other side, its down under them pines on tip of the point" I said it like Im some sort of expert. We wonder down the trail to the point, with me in the lead, BOOM right there in plain sight like god wanted us to find them. SCORE! 66 and 67 6x6 FRESHIES with blood on the bases. A friend had found one side to this buck from the year before a month earlier. We wait a few months go in pick up the other side from the year previous 3/4 mile away from the fresh set. Now we have 2 years of sheds from a buck we've never seen. And the legend starts "The Buck at the Farm."
2006, I see him 1 time confirmed in the grey twilight in early August looks like he is 225inches. See him one more time in the spot light running away in late september 2006. Spring 2006, look to no avail for his sheds. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif
2007, See a buck in the spot light same place as I saw him in 06 had to be him-Unconfirmed sighting. Set up several places around his suspected "core bedding area" No other sightings. Unsure if "The buck at the farm" is alive or even in the county. Hunting/Scouting/Trail cam/Glassing... NO sign

. Last bow hunt in his area before 07 gun season I hang a trail cam on a scrape 200yds from where he was shot.
He was shot where I picked up the second fresh shed, on the tip of the point. Grossed out at 184inches, 16point. He was shot by the land owners cousin, the only other person that hunts real close to where I found those sheds.
Tommorow I will post the harvest pic that I scanned out of the Outdoors Newspaper.
Dean
PS I spent more time thinking/planning/not sleeping over this buck than any other by far.
