Zach Lahn

From what I read as long as feenstra doesn’t get 35% or more of the vote June 2nd it will be up to people at the capitol to decide who gets to run.
Only poll I could find online claimed feenstra had 41% but that was before lahn got the MAHA endorsement and the barn talk podcast. And obviously before feenstra skipped the debates.

In my opinion, a Feenstra nomination means Sand as governor - and like 1983, I might actually vote Sand in that case. The problem is there are too many other good R candidates in the race. Steen or Andrews only against Feenstra likely win easily. But, the non-Feenstra vote will be too split up.

It will all come down to who Trump backs. Feenstra's so far up his but not sure there's room for even a tiny kiss from anyone else....

Was bored and started looking at all of the videos lahn has on YouTube and specifically looking at the number of views.
Shawn Ryan >600,000
Tucker Carlson 385,000
Barn talk 14,000 in 9 days

Just for kicks I did the same for feenstra
3,400 from 3 years ago
3,200 from 2 years ago
And my favorite from a few months ago: 1,000 views on a video titled “where’s feenstra”

Now I understand this doesn’t mean everything…. But I think the last primary was like 186,000 votes total it’s not like it’d take much

Unfortunately, the majority of primary voters are the generation that still believes what they see on their tv and they aren't watching YouTube or podcasts.

I’m disappointed but not surprised. I understand Trumps POV….. very loosely…. He knows Feenstra & simply sees him running above other candidates he doesn’t know. It’s obvious from his POV & I don’t really fault Trump on this.
With that said- Feenstra is gonna have a very tough time winning the general. R’s need a far better candidate. We need raw ambition & we need a fighter that can get broad support. Sorry- u don’t show up to anything, don’t do the work, few know who you are + you do nothing to improve that… it’s not enough. An “R” next to ur name & a Trump endorsement doesn’t win an election when u sit on the sidelines, aren’t fighting for votes & aren’t fighting the battles & winning them. Voters, IMHO- are not enthused, impressed or feel like Feenstra has earned their vote. Maybe that will change but where has he been for the last year??
At this moment in time… Very likely we are looking at Governor Sand & perhaps in 2030 a real candidate on the R side.

Trump endorsed Feenstra. Seems odd. He made so much fun of Basement Biden, but supports Runaway Randy. Pretty close to an endorsement for Sand....

Zach got the maha endorsement, the turning point USA endorsement.
The poll that came out yesterday has Zach ahead of feenstra which should pretty much eliminate feenstra getting 35% even if he did beat Zach.
That poll also mentioned that Zach was leading with maga republicans which to me means that people don’t really care so much about trumps endorsement.
I went to watch Zach speak today and there were 72 people there in a town of 2,500 people. I know of atleast 2 other places he’s speaking this weekend. When people left the townhall they drove straight to the courthouse and voted. The same faces I saw at the townhall were in line at the voting booth. That’s a great sign.

Some big miscalculation going on with Republicans on this. I can already hear the shock and rage if Sand wins. But the writing is on the wall and no one seems to be listening.

Whats everyone's opinion on school vouchers? Seems to be a hot topic between the parties this cycle and not one ive had strong feelings about either way.

I have mixed feelings on it and I benefit from it. My kids are the fourth generation to attend Catholic school. The ESA is covering the last two years of my youngest son's high school.

We all pay for schools and I believe we all should. It is to our benefit to live in an educated society.

I think there is something to be said for a parent being able to direct where their school tax dollars go when they're kids are in school. Quite frankly that is a total 180 to the way private school was "sold" in the past. It used to be you as a parent cared enough to pay "extra" for that private education and religion was a large part of it. That being said I have a real problem with tax dollars being paid out to any private institution and there being no review or oversight of where those dollars go and how they are spent. As far as I know there is no way to accurately evaluate the programs effectiveness. Sands has valid points in his critique of the program.

I do think Republicans don't like public education. I'm sure part of it has to do with their animosity to the teachers union but I think there's more to it. When I put on my foil hat I think maybe they want a dumber electorate....

Remember Reynolds "primaried" established representative that blocked the ESA the first time she pushed for it.

While I think education is very important, but I'm not a fan of tax payers money going to private schools. You choose private schooling because you have the funds to send your kids there. A large percentage of Iowa citizens don't have the funds to do that, yet they should pay taxes to support a private school? I compare this thinking to giving tax money to support Lake Panorama like the state does its state and county lakes.
