Brassicas

About 10 days ago I no-till drilled brassicas into a killed off clover plot that had a lot of foxtail in it. It was a plot that I frost seeded red clover last spring and didn't keep up on foxtail/weed control. Hatch quite a lot of thatch and appears that I don't have a very good stand because of thatch. Definitely a fair amount coming along but not near what I want. Should I till it up and replant brassicas right now? Or should I leave it alone and drill in rye/wheat/radish mix 9/1? Not sure if the rye/wheat/radish combo is going to have much more luck coming through the heave thatch/mulch?
The bigger the seed, the more energy it has to push through that initial thatch layer and find sunlight.
That being said, if you want brassicas you still have time to till and replant. Should have some stored nitrogen in the soil from the terminated clover too.

No go those brassicas coming in better on that plot I drilled. Reseeded today. Even with the rain the ground was like concrete on this plot so I’m guessing that crust just wouldn’t let them come through. Other plots looked ok but not great.

If they sparse - I just spread with bag seeder to fill em in.
If the soil got too hard- the seed likely got put too deep. The trench needs to be a light SCRATCH & then seed pressed against soil. When I see failures- 75% of the time it’s too deep. Any scenario other than broadcasting is a bit tough if ground is rough.
