DWGH Home Farm Projects Thread

Update, failed to take and pictures… BUT took buddy of mine that runs tree nursery out to tour the farm tonight after brush hogging the switchgrass field; he informed me that my farm is LITTERED with 3-4 year old stump regrowth persimmon trees. Im going to have him come back out next week and help me mark a few of these trees that are within the current crp acres. Might be able to skirt by without eliminating these for re-enrollment next year.
Send me plessings and prayers. Didnt know it but they are everywhere.

Thank you Lord!!
First rain since 5/18 , dumped this out this morning and got another round of showers this evening. Happy corn plot and hopefully this will save my beans!

Wow, that's awesome. I've been hearing of some pretty major flooding in parts of Missouri. Are you near any of that?

Ya, Columbia (s of me 30 miles) got smoked with 7” in about 18 hours. Know some folks whose kids woke up to their cars under water outside their apartment complexes there. Lotta farmers with replanted acres under water again.

Checked on bottom plot and switchgrass planting. Super happy with the switch. That was a giant chore (and investment) & its awesome to see it coming on

Dwgh, I’m sure I missed it in a previous post somewhere but what made you go with a large field of switch like that vs more of a traditional crp field out of curiosity?

Switch is easier honestly. 473 projects ive wanted to do this year. Ive done bbs indian switch blend before, but decided to do straight switch this time. Ive got plenty of more acres that need it cover so will be doing some of that in the coming years.

Got another blind mounted on a trailer this morning. To me mobility is with these blinds. Will be first time trying a muddy. Seems pretty nice.
