It sounds to me to be shoulder hit. I had the same thing happen to me last year. Quartering away took the shoulder. Sounded like I hit a tree head on Smack, had good blood for a couple hundred yards then fizzled out. I looked for that deer for a week till our opening gun season. A neighbor ended...
Congrats on the doe, now knock down a brute. I have always wanted to keep a log of encounters to see if the activity starts about the same time every year. Putting it on here was a great idea
Well after searching for 6 hours.we lost the blood after 200 yards and never could pick it up again we started combing the hillside thinking maybe he just ran till he collapsed no such luck. I will be checking the closest water source later tonight any other tips would be greatly appreciated

Yes picture 1 and 3 are of the same deer just thought maybe a different angle would give a better look at how old he might be. I am not quite sure of the 2nd pic. To me he looks young and might develope into a decent buck. But your right sligh1 I don't think either one will ever be a giant.
Wondering if you would take these bucks out. The one with the devil horn I think is a deer that we had on camera last year. Had a couple opportunities to take him out but thought we would give him another year to see if he just damaged last years rack. We are thinking now that he has poor...
