This year will not compare to any previous one because of the late start. 1st season will not be a true 1st season because of the late start... and so on down the line. One week difference in the Turkey woods is huge.

On page 26 of the Regs. there's a "Weapon Legal by Season" chart. Archery isin't marked for shotgun season's 1 and 2. So someone explain to me how this is a legal deer.

I have a couple dogs that like to run through the timber I hunt. Talking to the owner won't cut it. Had a encounter with him a few years back, he doesn't care. Of course an arrow would of went their way but no shot was offered. Those dogs are going down... but how? My main concern is other...

I have 4 books by Gene Hill. He leans to the upland and waterfowl side of things, but that was my hunting roots so I really enjoy his stuff. But he also covers a wide range of odds and ends. If some of his dog stories don't make your eyes water you ain't got a pulse.

I'm getting ready for a new bow this year. Looking at two bows, same price, and the numbers are practically identical, IBO, weight, etc. etc. One difference: One bow has a magnesium riser, the other aluminum. So which would you lean towards and why? I will shoot both and see what happens. Thanks.

How do you pass the time you ask? If anyone out there is like me, screw-up early into the hunt then you have hours to sit and stew about it. Last Friday I made a bone head move on a nice buck at 11:30. So from then until dark thirty I could day dream about what might have been!

Here's a breed you might have to look-up to even know what they look like: Gordon Setter. I owned one for 11 hunting seasons. She was a great hunter and a better house dog. They are truely a wonderful breed.
