Lady Bug Problem/Question? in Farm houses!

Acephate which is labeled as Orthene, carbaryl which is labeled as Sevin, and several pyrethroids (bifenthrin, cyfluthrin, deltamethrin, lambda-cyhalothrin, or permethrin) should all work decent for adult beetles. Applications of imidacloprid, which is labeled as Merit or Admire generally need...

The worst part about not killing one in the morning...

No, you don't get to decide. I already bought it. If you don't shoot one then I'll just have to drink it! (It's only appropriate right?) [/IMG]

The worst part about not killing one in the morning...

Is that gonna be on every harvest picture I post on here Chris? And by the way, where's your turkey? I told you I had a bottle of whiskey for you when you finally tagged out! Not enough motivation?

    Any Morels yet?

An hour of walking today and zero success. I think it might be a little early for the Ames area, but I had to get out and look with rain in the forecast the rest of the week. I'll do some peaking around at home this weekend in the south central part of the state.

The worst part about not killing one in the morning...

...is that taking harvest pics at night kinda sucks. I killed this tom at 7:50 on monday night. He really made me work. He was all henned up (10 or so hens) and it took me a solid hour, from the time they stepped into my field to the time of the shot, to get them called in. Twice they tried...

    the shrinker buck

hahahahahaha! ROTF LOL It's ok, last year I shot a 150 inch buck and when I got up to him he had shrunk to 125. I call him the "really fast shrinker buck". Sorry....I'm a jerk.

    219" typical 16 point found dead....in iowa

I would agree with you guys on the "law is the law" concept. And yes, I understand that the law says that I need to tag any antlered skull. I would love to be able to do that, except that I can't get a legal tag for it. I think I maybe came off the wrong way. I agree with you guys (JNRBRONC...

    219" typical 16 point found dead....in iowa

JNRBRONC, I'm gonna skip past the part about your speculated future laws on tagging stuff, because as far as I'm concerned, that's all it is...speculation. And in the case of me finding something else valuable like a ring or a wallet, I can bet that this item originally belonged to someone...

    219" typical 16 point found dead....in iowa

That proves my point exactly though. You can't prove it's poaching. I feel the same way about a dead buck. Nice to find if you stumble across them. I guess I just have a different stand-point than you. To each his own. I just feel like once a buck is dead, it has the same value to me as a shed...

    219" typical 16 point found dead....in iowa

JNRBRONC, then what about sheds? You didn't shoot any of those deer either. Do you feel like you wouldn't have a claim on sheds you find? Seems the same to me? But no DNR officer can ever make a claim on sheds in the same fashion.

    219" typical 16 point found dead....in iowa

I really don't mean to fan the flame or anything but.... I've had this question before and been faced with finding a big buck and not knowing what to do. In my situation it got taken by the dnr. Pissed me off. My point is that, you say "who's to say they weren't involved in the poaching"...

    Spring Break Fishin'

Well I just got back from my spring break fishin' trip with my family. Just thought I'd throw some pics out here for you guys to look at. During the course of the week I caught the biggest catfish (flathead, bluecat, or channel) that I've ever caught, as well as my biggest striper. These first...

    Eye opener for NR landowner!

A quote, straight from the Friends of Iowa website: "They (founders of the Friends of Iowa) were non-resident landowners who desired the opportunity to manage their own properties (in Iowa) effectively, including being able to properly hunt their own land, as resident landowners were able to...
