    Youth Muzzleloader

I was told by Lindy at Lindy's guns that these youth muzzeloaders were no longer made. My 12 year old had one and we had trouble with the hammer not staying cocked. Very scary with a kids gun. It did shoot great and he killed six deer with it. If you do get one please watch the hammer to make...

    loading a deer

I use a roller track that came out of the place I work. It is so easy you can't believe it. Usually I just pull the deer right up the track, but now we have a ice fishing sled that we use in snowy weather that I think would slide up the track even easier than the deer itself.

    2nd Season In The Snow

Hunt the food source in the evening in your area. When it gets this bad the only thing on their mind is food and bedding. Good luck and get a big one.

    Badlands 2200 vs. Badlands Superday

I have a superday pack and think its great for hauling in on a stand. I do alot of western hunts and its a great day pack. I have had others and none of them compare to the quality of this pack. It will hold everything you need and then some. You can carry your gun or bow on it and it also has a...

Is it to late to rattle?

I rattled in a 142 inch 10 point and killed him last sunday the 22nd. He was roaming and just changed his direction and came right in. I agree that it depends on the buck and his personality. Its still worth a try.

    Youth muzzleloaders

My sons youth rossi has taken 5 or 6 deer in the 4 years he has had it. It is perfect for young kids and actually shoots pretty good groups. I did want to warn anyone with this gun that after youth season last year I was cleaning the gun and noticed the hammer would barely stay cocked which...

    LESS DEER?

I've been hunting Webster county and can't believe how many less deer we are seeing this year over last year. There are a few bucks but the doe numbers seem to be so low I can't believe it. I was wondering if anyone else is noticing this or if it is just in our area. I'm wondering if we are...

    Youth muzzleloaders

My son has harvested two deer with his 45 caliber youth rossi. His first deer was taken when he was seven and I would recomend this gun highly for young kids. I paid $145 for it a couple of years ago.Good luck and way to go getting those kids out there.

    Bug Out Tick protection?

I had a rynoskin bug suit I used in missouri for a few years and it worked great.I wasn't a big fan of the extremley tight fit but no ticks ever got under it. I can't see any reason that under armor in the heat gear wouldn't work the same way since the rynoskin was just tight fitting and had no...

    hunting rooms

WI Shedhead. I had Chris Hoskins bleach the skull and mount it. He is a taxidermist in Luther Iowa. After getting it back it would be pretty easy to make one.

    CCi number 11's

If your talking about a remington muzzeloader I would bet my hunting ground that you are having the same trouble that I had. I sent mine back to remington once to have them work on it and it still took a second cock to get it to fire. They sent me another bolt in the mail that their shop had...

    Shoot or Pass

I'm the same as the rest of you guys, I want to shoot the biggest buck in the woods. It's what my dreams are made of and the reason I get out of bed on cold mornings to hunt. But I have to say that we need to harvest a deer that makes us happy. I think it depends on where we are in the country...

UPDATE - too young or not?

Wow!! If that was your first hunt I can't imagine how good its gonna get. I think it means more to them than we ever know. I'm glad you had a good time. P.S Don't forget a saftey belt for the kids.

    Too young or not?

I think as long as they want to go you should definatley take them. I have a 8 year old son that killed his first deer at 7. I do agree that you have to make the trip a short one. Let them decide when to leave. My son usually wants to leave about 30 minutes before dark!! The time spent with your...

    New high power

I've killed a couple deer with a 300 win mag and thought it was overkill. I shot a nice buck in the front shoulder and there was blood clots clear back to the hind quarters. They are nice guns but may be a little to much for deer. the 270 or 30-06 would be a better choice in my opinion. Andyhunts

    Badlands Superday hydration question

I have a badlands super day pack and the hose runs up through the shoulder strap. My pack is a year old so maybe they changed it. It is a little hard to fish the hose up through the shoulder strap but what a quality pack. Good luck finding it.
